Regular ward rounds ensure knowledge sharing and good communication about patient care
At Charter we’re all horse lovers. Our hospital has a team of qualified veterinary nurses, many of whom are horse owners and riders. The nursing team is highly dedicated and responsible for the day to day comfort of your horse.
Our nursing team is on hand to provide your horse with:
• Stable management of the highest standard.
• Post-operative wound monitoring and dressing management.
• Monitoring vital signs and behaviour of hospitalised horses 24 hours a day.
• Continuous assistance to the vets in diagnosis and treatment.
• Laboratory technicians performing much of the diagnostic lab work undertaken in the in-house lab.
• Progress reports of your horse’s comfort. The duty equine nurse is able to answer telephone enquiries about in-patients after ward-rounds at 11am.
• Theatre nursing during surgery.
• Preparation of equipment for all our work.
As you can appreciate, nurses are very busy people constantly engaged in the care of their charges.
