Acupuncture: We have two veterinary surgeons within Charter Veterinary Hospital Group who have been trained in the use of acupuncture: Martin Hume and Robert Lee. If you would like your animal to be treated by acupuncture or wish to discuss whether or not it would be beneficial please phone and ask our receptionists to make an appointment. acupuncture

Anaesthesia: Your pet’s safety during operations is of utmost concern so we therefore have a range of modern anaesthetic agents and techniques available. These can be tailored to the individual patient and are monitored by our fully trained staff. Dave Tittle is studying for additional qualifications in Veterinary Anaesthesia and he ensures we use the most appropriate anaesthetic for your pet. More info >> anaesthesia

Behavioural problems: We can provide behavioural advice for certain problems or recruit assistance for more challenging problems. We work with K9 Etiquette to coordinate our puppy socialisation classes for registered clients. Behavioural problems

Dentistry: We perform dental procedures at four of our sites on dogs, cats and increasingly on rabbits using equipment you would recognise from your own dentists’ surgery. CHARTER 232 harriet dental

Diagnostic Imaging: Modern Veterinary Medicine requires up-to-date imaging facilities for diagnosing your pet’s condition. We have X-Ray facilities at three of our sites and regularly use Ultrasound Scanning to enable us to undertake a non-invasive but detailed examination of the internal organs. We can also call upon the services of our specialist diagnostic imaging consultant for referral work and echocardiography. We also use Endoscopes to enable us to look directly inside the body to access changes, take biopsies and sometimes retrieve foreign objects. Diagnostic Imaging

Electrocardiogram (ECG): This equipment enables us to assess and monitor heart rhythms by measuring electrical impulses. Electrocardiogram

Exotic & Zoo Services: Simon Thompson coordinates veterinary care for two zoo collections. He regularly treats birds for falconers and parrot owners. We have a clinical liaison facility with European avian specialist Neil Forbes BVet Med Dip ECAMS CBiol MIBiol FRCVS exotic and zoo animals

Health Plan: Our qualified Veterinary Nurses are vital in the running of the practice. They are not only responsible for in-patient care, but also run their own clinics for healthcare advice, weight watchers and post operative checks to name a few. Puppy parties for the youngest patients joining the practice have been a great success and help with socialisation for the young dog. Nurse Clinics

Laboratory Facilities: By using the latest computerised and automated equipment we can test blood samples for most routine conditions and have the results the same day, enabling us to reach a rapid diagnosis even at night or weekends. This is invaluable in an emergency situation where we are able to start the appropriate treatment quickly. For more specialist tests we refer samples to external laboratories with dedicated veterinary specialist support. Laboratory Facilities
