Hyperthyroidism in cats

We’re taking a look at hyperthyroidism in cats throughout September! Interested? Read on…

Just like in human medicine, early detection of disease is key for a successful treatment outcome. Unfortunately some conditions and diseases are very hard to detect and can be easily confused with normal ageing changes. It’s all about knowing what signs to be on the look out for.

Over the coming months we will be focusing on three very common conditions that affect the endocrine (hormone) system in cats and dogs.

Zombie, Dennis and Amber pictured below have all been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism – we’ll find out a bit more about the symptoms they’ve displayed and the varying treatment methods that have been used to help them over the next few weeks, not to mention getting some feedback from their owners.

But for now, do you have a hyperthyroid cat?
