Here at Charter Vets we offer RCVS advanced practitioners offering referral level surgery and treatments at our Veterinary Hospital in Barnstaple.
Whatever the time of day or night, if your pet needs intensive care, we are here to provide it.
Charter Vets have two veterinary hospitals so rest assured, our nurses are on-site 24 hours a day to look after your pet’s intensive care needs. A member of our nursing team will always answer your call out of normal working hours. We do not use a messaging service or answer machines.
Our team of experienced vets is available for emergency assessment and evaluation.
Our intensive care services for your pet takes full advantage of modern techniques and procedures, resulting in positive outcomes wherever possible. Veterinary Surgeon, Dave Tittle has additional qualifications in Veterinary Anaesthesia, with a particular interest in Emergency and Critical Care techniques.

The analgesia service runs alongside other disciplines within the Charter Group, in particular orthopaedic, soft tissue and neurosurgery.
Your pet’s pain relief during all procedures is our utmost concern. As such, we have a range of modern agents and techniques available to minimise pain before during and after procedures.
Our approach is tailored to each individual patient and your pet is monitored by our fully trained staff. Patient comfort, including the provision of adequate pain relief, is of paramount importance to us.

Patients from any of our clinics requiring overnight care are hospitalised at either of our Hospitals. Our dual Veterinary Hospital status means that we provide 24 hour nursing care, using the latest equipment and facilities.
Our compassionate nursing team is responsible for the provision of in-patient care, and monitoring of your pet’s condition during their stay. They are knowledgeable and proficient in delivering the high standard of patient care that we provide.
We are proud to have two fully equipped Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons approved veterinary hospitals so you can rest assured that your pet will always receive the highest quality professional care, backed by a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities and uncompromising service levels.
Our Roundswell Hospital boasts an Intensive Care ‘Hub’. Situated in the ‘Prep’ area, this facility enables close and round the clock monitoring of
critical patients, and delivery of continuous nursing care, and oxygen therapy. Our Mullacott Hospital has a similar mobile ’Hub’ to allow regular and continuous monitoring of high dependency patients.
